Hello friends!
So this summer has been going by so so quickly and we here in the traveling dirt-bag circus otherwise known as Acres Of Lions have been having the time of our lives playing all these crazy summer festivals! We would personally like to thank all of you friends and festival-goers for coming out to see our sunny, sweaty sets these past couple of months… Seriously, Warped Tour in Toronto, Keloha in Kelowna, Rock The Shores, Rock Of The Woods on Vancouver Island… we had such a blast and some life-changing experiences at these events as a band… I mean COME ON, Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Mathew Good, City And Colour… we had the distinct pleasure of sharing the stage with these acts, bands that we’ve looked up to for ages… it is what is keeping our minds perpetually blown these days, and we can’t thank you enough for the endless support from you… it is truly what has taken us to these places! We can’t even believe that it is already August of 2013… we really don’t want it to end!
Here is a link to some amazing PHOTOS taken and also, a little “backstage interview” we did with Monday Magazine for the Rock The Shores festival on July 13/14 if you haven’t had the chance to see them yet… some definite good memories here… party… bonus…
This past weekend, Tyson and Jeff performed a hot, sweaty and dusty acoustic set for the fine folks attending the Rock Of The Woods festival in Duncan… a quaint and excellent little event that stretched for 3 days and featured not only the likes of many awesomely talented locals making some major musical moments, but also Hannah Georgas, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald (Who did an amazing “Dancing In The Dark” Springsteen cover BTW), Jon and Roy, and of course, The Cave Singers. It was a great weekend, and we were happy to close out the weekend with so much great music around throughout the day… There’s something so inspiring about playing outdoors in the middle of a field surrounded by fun, loving people who came to enjoy the entire event for the beautiful and memorable time that it was! A big thanks to Surge Events for having us out to the farm, and also to all of you tired and sun-stroked folks who caught our set and sung along!
Here’s some PHOTOS to better illustrate the good times at Rock Of The Woods and how silly we can be!
In other summer festival news, we will be in Sylvan Lake AB next weekend for the Shake The Lake Festival! This will be a small community festival featuring the ever amazing Hey Ocean! and many many more great bands and activities we assure you! We will be headlining the Saturday night festivities, so if you are in the area, get there early and don’t miss out! We would love to see you there, friends!
Have a great week!
